[origin: WO2005032391A1] The invention relates to a bone fixed locator (3, 5) used as a reference for a navigation system (1) for determining the position and location of body parts of a mammal. Said bone fixed locator comprises a receiving device, especially a stereo camera arrangement (9) which is used to locate locators using signals delivered to locators by target markers, and a control and evaluation device (11) connected to the receiving device, also comprising less than three target markers (3c, 3d, 5c, 5d) which are provided on a base body (3a, 5a) for outputting a signal to the receiver and an engaging section (3b, 5b) which is embodied in such a manner that it can engage in the bone of a mammal.
