[origin: WO2005033530A1] Disclosed is a ball socket (1) for accommodating a ball, comprising at least one area (6) that is made of an elastically deformable material or is provided with an elastically deformable geometry such that the ball socket (1) does not break when being bent open to insert the ball (10) and subsequently springs back into the initial position thereof. This makes it easy to assemble a ball (10)-and-socket (1) joint while the ball (10) is securely accommodated in the inventive ball socket (1).
