[origin: WO2005039438A1] In order to enable treatment agents such as mouth water or abrasive substances to be added to spray water in a water jet, the handpiece (2) of the water jet (1)is provided with a piston cylinder unit comprising a piston (12), whereby one front surface thereof is provided with a pressure chamber (13) and the other front surface thereof is provided with a reservoir area (14) with a substrate containing a treating agent. As tap water flows through a mains line (11), a pressure differential is created on account of the flow resistance, resulting in displacement of the piston (12) leading to a reduction of the reservoir area such that the substrate arranged therein is pressed into the mains line (11).
