Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2005039791A1] The invention relates to a rolling mill drive comprising drive spindles which are arranged between drive units and driven rollers and which terminate in spindle heads, wherein each respective spindle head is detachably connected to the neck of a roller, particularly a working roller, and wherein a coupling and decoupling device is arranged between the neck of the roller and the spindle head of the drive spindle. The coupling and decoupling device has a simple structure, exhibits a high degree of operational reliability and requires only a small amount of maintenance. It is characterized in that it consists of a coupling bushing (22) a coupling journal (21) detachably inserted into the coupling bushing and a locking element (23) which is displaceably arranged in a perpendicular manner in relation to the axis of rotation of the neck of the roller, is inserted into the coupling bushing and engages with the coupling journal from the rear in an operating position. The locking element can be coupled to a slider device.
