Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2005025978A2] A mooring system for a floating aquatic structure is claimed. The system includes a pivoting harness (2) adapted to be pivotally attached to the structure. Attached to the harness (2) are one or more connecting lines (11) to are secured primary weights (10). First anchor lines (16) are attached to the primary weights (10) and have first anchors (15) at the ends of the front anchor lines (16) remote from the primary weights (10). The mooring system can also include one or more second anchor lines (13) and their associated second anchors (18). One or more support lines (14) can also be connected between the structure and the second anchor lines (13) to help stabilise the structure. The primary is weight (10) includes a frame (34) and a number of chain links (35) hanging therefrom. A recovery apparatus (45) for recovering the system from the water to a support vessel is also disclosed.
