[origin: EP1671624A1] The invention provides a controlled release bioactive agent delivery device for delivery of bioactive agent to a posterior segment of an eye, the device comprising a body member formed of a material having a cross-section, the body member having a direction of extension, a longitudinal axis along the direction of extension, and two or more deviations from the direction of extension, wherein the deviations are spaced from each other a distance that is equal to or greater than the cross-section of the material forming the body member; and a polymeric coated composition in contact with the body member, the polymeric coated composition comprising a first polymer, a second polymer, and a bioactive agent.
