[origin: EP1671696A2] In a static mixing element with first and second casing parts (11, 12) (fixed together in an axial direction with sealing edges (14, 15) and linked by a connector (30)) and flow guides (20) in the flow space (16) between the casing parts and extending from the inlet opening (17) to the outlet opening (18), the flow guides are in the form of vanes (21, 22), extending beyond the sealing edges and leaving a section (35) of the flow space of the casing parts free up to a sealing edge.
