Abstract (en)
The present invention relates to a method and control system (2) for controlling at least the temperature in a feed pipe (6, 8) of an enclosed pressurised water heating system (1) comprising heat exchangers (9) connected to a boiler (3). The boiler (3) has a water outlet (4) connected to the feed pipe (6, 8), at least some of which feed pipe (6, 8) is provided by a pipe (8) of thermoplastic material. Essentially, the method comprises measuring the temperature of the feed water adjacent the boiler feed outlet (4) and comparing this measured temperature with a base temperature. When the measured temperature exceeds the base temperature, that measured temperature is recorded as a critical temperature and can be used to carry out various actions, such as cutting off the boiler (3) immediately or possibly cutting off the operation of the boiler (3) after a preset time. In one embodiment, it is carried out by using a thermistor (15) mounted on the exterior of the feed water pipe (6). There may also be provided means for sensing the pressure in the feed water and stopping the operation of the boiler when the pressure in the feed water is outside preset limits.
