Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2005038103A1] The invention relates to method and a device for use in an air-jet spinning machine for preparing the resumption of the spinning process after interruption of the spinning process. According to the inventive method and device, an end of the already spun yarn is restored contrary to the operational direction of spinning through the air jet unit to a yarn storage device. In said yarn storage device, the end of the tread is removed as waste material, thereby creating a new thread end which is prepared for the resumption of the spinning process. The point of separation is prepared by subjecting it to compressed air and the end to be discarded as waste material is removed by stretching the thread. The yarn storage device is preferably configured as a suction tube which is associated with a clamping point for temporarily holding the thread and a compressed air nozzle for blowing the thread.
