Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1524473A1] Process for combusting fuel in a fuel chamber (12) comprises mixing fuel and combustion air in front of the inlet to the fuel chamber to avoid self ignition, feeding a first part (36) of the mixture (34) so that it circulates in the combustion chamber, feeding further fuel into the circulation flow (46) of the first part of the mixture until heating to ignition conditions has been achieved, and feeding a second part (38) of the mixture into the combustion chamber so that it is mixed with a hot fuel gas (50) removed from the circulation flow, heated and burned up to its exit from the combustion chamber. An independent claim is also included for a device for combusting fuel in a combustion chamber. Preferred Features: The fuel and the combustion air are mixed so that the ratio of combustion air to fuel lies above the average air/fuel ratio of the combustion in the combustion chamber.
