[origin: US2005067282A1] A sensor element is used to determine a physical property of a measuring gas, which may be to determine the concentration of a component of an exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine. The sensor element includes a first electrode, which is positioned on a solid electrolyte and which is connected to the measuring gas located outside the sensor element via a first diffusion pathway, in which a first diffusion resistor is provided. The sensor element also has a second electrode, which is positioned on a solid electrolyte and is connected to the measuring gas located outside the sensor element via a second diffusion pathway, in which a second diffusion resistor is positioned.
