Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2005034298A2] The invention relates to an electrical connector which is equipped with a rapid disconnection system. In order to reduce damage caused to the electrical connector by electric arcs, the inventive connector comprises a release (15) and a spring (16). According to the invention, the release is intended to co-operate with a case (3) in order to authorise the movement of the disconnection device (4), while the spring, which is solidly connected to the case and the disconnection device, enables the rapid disconnection of the case and cover parts (2) forming the connector, thereby producing the rapid disconnection of the contacts (5, 7) which are attached to each of the two parts respectively.
