Molding machine comprises a mold with an upper part (5) having a pressing piece (11) which moves parallel to a horizontal plane (16) within a floating field (35) lying in the plane by external forces relative to the lower part of the mold. Die Erfindung betrifft eine Steinformmaschine, insbesondere zur Herstellung von Betonformsteinen, mit einer in der Steinformmaschine angeordneten Form, welche ein Formoberteil (5) und ein Formunterteil umfasst, wobei das Formoberteil (5) wenigstens ein Druckstück (11) aufweist und an einer Auflast der Steinformmaschine befestigt ist. Hierbei ist das Druckstück (11) parallel zu einer horizontalen Ebene (16) innerhalb eines in dieser Ebene (16) liegenden Schwimmfelds (35) passiv durch äußere Kräfte bewegbar und die Position des Druckstücks (11) ist in dem Schwimmfeld (35) arretierbar.
