[origin: EP1674284A2] u The book shape and press machine (1) has a number of straight rows that has pressing stations (3, 4) arranged at regular intervals at opposite sides, with each pair having a press plate (5) at alternating spacings to exert press pressure (F1) on the sides of the books. The alternating spacings has heated fold-shape rails (17) to form the book covering fold (2a) of the book. The fold-shape rails are on transport means (15, 31, 32) to enable gradual predefined movement of the book from one press station (3) to the next press station (4). The transport means is guided in circular track (16).
