Abstract (en)
The method involves applying a mass (14) fixable by energy radiation on a surface (12) of a card. An adjustable energy beam (31) of a radiation energy source (30) is directed onto the mass on the surface. Information (11) is generated by fixing an area of the mass using the beam, where a non-fixable remaining area of the mass is removed from the surface. Intensity of the energy beam is controlled by an electrical signal. An independent claim is also included for a device for generating three dimensional information e.g. an image and/or a figure and/or a letter, on a surface of a card e.g. credit card.
