[origin: EP1674655A1] The method involves detecting and counting commutations produced between brushes and commutator segments for determining a position and/or speed of a shaft of motor (MOT) when the counting of the commutation is valid. Counter electromotive force of the motor is measured for determining the position and/or speed of the shaft when the counting of commutation is not valid. An independent claim is also included for an actuator for maneuvering movable unit of building.
