Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1674703A2] The bridge has outer longitudinal side unit running at a distance from a crankshaft longitudinal axis. Each of the crankshaft bearing crowns (16, 17) are provided with bore halves of bearing bores for crankshaft crank pins. The crowns are supported in a direction of the axis via connecting units extending between the side units. The crowns open into a longitudinal side unit in an area on parting plane by way of widened areas. An independent claim is also included for a reciprocating piston type internal combustion engine including a crankshaft bearing bridge.
