Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2005049147A1] The invention relates to an adsorption material (1) with a protective action against chemical toxins, in particular chemical weapons. Said material has a multi-ply layered structure (2), the latter (2) comprising at least one support layer (3), in particular a flat support layer and an interlining (4) that is applied to the support layer (3) and that prevents or at least delays the penetration of chemical toxins. The interlining (4) comprises at least one adsorption layer (5) based on an adsorbent, in particular an active charcoal-based adsorbent, which adsorbs a chemical toxin and at least one essentially water- and air-tight, but water-vapour permeable membrane (6), which delays the penetration of chemical toxins or is at least essentially impermeable to said toxins. The adsorption material (1) is extremely comfortable to wear, having in particular good breathability, whilst guaranteeing excellent protection against chemical toxins.
