Abstract (en)

[origin: FR2861215A1] The gun has a cathode (6) inside a vacuum enclosure (2) and having an electron emitting surface (8). An electric supply unit (10) establishes a voltage between an anode (4) and the cathode to accelerate the electrons towards the anode. The anode has a curve to resist pressure difference between inside and outside of the enclosure and to co-operate with a curve of the surface to focus an electrons beam (12) outside the enclosure. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) an electron irradiation installation for an object; and (b) an electronic sterilization installation for package components.
