[origin: WO2005045487A2] The invention relates to a housing comprising an input port for a light wave guide cable and a plurality of parallel output ports. At least one optical signal-processing component, a light wave guide strip with a predetermined bending radius of preferably at least 30 mm and optical connectors are located in the interior of the housing, interposed between the input port and the output ports. According to the invention, the input port, the light wave guide strip and at least one optical connector are stationarily mounted as an interface on a base plate unit. At least one component for signal processing, one or more signal converters for transforming the signal and at least one optical connector and the output ports are disposed in a housing cover that is detachably linked with the base plate unit.
