[origin: WO2004107506A1] Disclosed is an electrical plug-in connector comprising a plug and an associated socket, both of which are provided with contact for establishing an electrical connection between the plug and the socket. The aim of the invention is to prevent unwanted arcing, especially in 42 V on-board networks. Previously known means extend and/or displace an occurring arc. According to the invention, means (11, 12; 21, 22) for preventing unwanted arcs act in a mechanical manner and introduce especially an insulating element into the arc path. Means for generating a normal contact force are also provided.
