Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2005043956A1] The invention relates to a heating element for electric hot plates, particularly for glass ceramic plates, which is provided in the form of elongated strips (1) having a length LR, a height hR and a thickness sR, is made of an electrically conductive material having a specific resistance PR, and which, when in an operational position, is placed on end on a thermally insulating support. The strip (1) has, on the side facing the support, tabs (3) having a height hS and a width bS, which intermesh with the support by a meshing depth e of a portion of the height hS. Gaps (4) having a height hS and a width bF are formed between said tabs (3) and create aerating gaps over the distance height hS minus the meshing depth e. In order to obtain a predetermined resistance RN corresponding to a desired nominal output PN of the heating element, the height hR of the strip (1) is dimensioned according to the resistance RT with regard to a defined measurement length Lm and/or according to the average thickness sm of the strip.
