Abstract (en)
A device for feeding a continuously cast bar (12) on a movable bearing surface (64,66) into a furnace (10) has a bearing axis section (52,54) in at least one bearing zone (56,58) in a predetermined operating position of a furnace feeder (48,50) arranged at least partly under an axis section (60,62) of feeder (48,50) in the region of bearing surface (64,66). An independent claim is also included for a furnace having the above feed device and used for heating a continuously cast bar, the furnace (10) having a heating zone (26) with one or more pre-heating zones (22,24) positioned above zone (26) and with zones (22 and (26) thermally connected by a passage (28) such that bar (12) can be led from pre-heating zone (22) into heating zone (26).
