Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2005047135A1] The invention relates to packaging (1) for free-flowing products consisting of a heat-sealed bag (2) composed of a flexible material. Said packaging, when full, has an end that lies flat (3), formed by two broad-face sections (4, 5) lying flat against one another and narrow-face sections that are folded inwards at both edges of said sections and lie between the latter (4, 5). A side fold (6) adjoins one broad-face section (4) and another side fold (7) adjoins the other broad-face section (5), the end (3) of the bag being closed by means of a sealing weld (8) that extends essentially in a transverse direction to the longitudinal axis of the bag. The aim of the invention is to facilitate the controlled opening of said bag without the aid of auxiliary opening implements. To achieve this, the sealing weld (8) in the region of the side folds (6, 7) is only provided between the respective side fold (6 or 7) and the neighbouring broad-face section (4 or 5).
