Abstract (en)
A method for dividing a book block into two equal halves has the book block (1) carried under and overhead transporter and moved onto a splitting wheel (10) with a ridge shaped profile. The wheel has a ridge angle of about 130 deg. and is provided with a low friction coating. The wheel setting and penetration, into the block, is adjustable and opens the block for the parting tool (3) to divide the block with no damage risk to the leaves. The design is suitable for all types of leaves including thick card, e.g. for children's books.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung für Buchbindemaschinen zum mittigen Teilen von Buchblocks (1) durch Aufschieben des von einer Fördereinrichtung (2) vortransportierten Buchblocks (1) auf ein Teilerorgan (3). Um ein funktionssicheres Teilen von Buchblocks (1) mit dicken Kartonblättem oder Papptafeln zu gewährleisten, ist dem Teilerorgan (3) mit seinem vorgelagerten Teilerwerkzeug (4) ein auf den Vorderschnitt (1a) des Buchblocks einwirkender, satteldachförmig ausgebildeter, stumpfer Keil (10) vorgelagert, der einen in der vorlaufenden Buchblockecke beginnenden und in den Kopf- oder Fußschnitt (1b) und in den Vorderschnitt (1a) hineinlaufenden Öffnungsspalt erzeugt, durch den nachfolgend das Teilerwerkzeug (4) in den Buchblock (1) eindringt. In bevorzugter Weiterausgestaltung ist eine angefederte (12), drehbar gelagerte Keilrolle (10) vorgesehen, die eine abgerundete Keilspitze aufweist und deren Keilwinkel (±) gleich 130° ist.
