[origin: US7055445B1] In the top transport device of a sewing machine, the top transport foot ( 15 ) moves in a vertical slot ( 27 ) in the arm ( 17 ), with which the top transport foot ( 15 ) is driven. This arrangement enables the top transport foot ( 15 ) to be displaced upwards into the rest position, so that accessories can be fixed to the presser bar ( 11 ).
