Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1681430A2] The composite profile (1) for the frame of wall elements, doors, or windows has spaced apart metal profiles which are interconnected, with a fire-resistant and/or heat-resistant insulating material (5) installed between the metal profiles. By fastening means a cover (11) for the covering of at least one side face of the insulating material is fastened to close the space (A) between the metal profiles, whereby the cover defines a cavity (24) between the cover and the insulating material.
