Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2005044059A1] The invention relates to a display case consisting of a support body with n corners, which is configured as a rack, is rotatably mounted by means of a pedestal and in which are fixed compartments, shelves or similar surfaces for receiving objects, such as items of jewellery or watches. In addition, the support body is surrounded by a framework containing illumination means in the corner regions and the lateral surfaces that are defined by the framework comprise at least partial glass covers, which can be formed by glass doors. According to the invention, the support body comprises a tubular continuous shaft in its interior, said shaft supporting the support body both on its base and its cover by means of a bearing and/or a bush and being fixed at its lower end on the pedestal. The illumination means that are provided in the corner regions are fixed on the base and cover of the support body and are not in direct thermal contact with the surfaces for receiving the objects to be displayed. The exterior faces of the illumination means that are provided in the corner regions are surrounded by removable cover plates, the latter having a plurality of orifices that permit the unhindered dissipation of heat.
