[origin: WO2005053320A1] The invention relates to an array for selectively making images three-dimensionally visible or two-dimensionally represent said images. Said array comprises an illumination apparatus (1), at least one filter array (2) for structuring the light emitted by the illumination apparatus (1), at least one scattering layer (3a, 3b), and a transmissive image reproducing device (4). The distance a between the filter array (2) and the scattering layer (3a, 3b) can be modified such that the structuring of the light emitted by the illumination apparatus (1), which is created by the filter array (2), is substantially cancelled, preferably below the contrast threshold of human vision, as a result of the light-scattering effect of the scattering layer (3a, 3b) and a two-dimensional image is represented on the image reproducing device (4) at the full resolution thereof in a first position in which the scattering layer (3a, 3b) is placed at a distance from the filter array (2) while the structuring of the light emitted by the illumination apparatus (1), which is created by the filter array (2), is substantially not cancelled and a three-dimensionally visible image can be represented in a second position in which the scattering layer (3a, 3b) is disposed in close contact with or at least near the filter array (2).
