[origin: EP1683408A1] The press has a press channel (3) and devices (7) to make two knots in binding tape etc., which is supplied in two lengths (9,10) from a store (11-16) via tensioning units (18-23). The units apply different set tensions to the lengths to make the first and the second knot. The tensioning unit has a brake and a flexible deflection pulley, which shortens a deflection loop due to a feed movement of a tape feeder arm. The pulley has a stop position loaded by a spring, and is also loaded by a weight. The loop incorporates a breaking sensor.
