[origin: WO2005039700A1] The invention relates to a piece of clothing that comprises a liquid-proof functional layer (9) provided with an external liquid-permeable material (5) applied to one side thereof and with an internal liquid-permeable material (3) applied to the other side thereof, wherein the first piece of clothing comprises a sealing arrangement which is disposed in an overlapping area (11) and ensures a liquid-impermiability with respect to a second piece of clothing overlapping said first piece of clothing. In the annular part of the overlapping area (11) of the axially extending first piece of clothing, the liquid-proof functional layer (9) is devoid of the internal material (3) or the external material (5) on one of the sides thereof and is provided with an annular sealing joint (13) of the sealing arrangement (13; 13, 31; 13, 31'). Said sealing joint (13) is made of a liquid-proof material and glued in a liquid-impermeable manner to the functional layer (9) on the first radial circumference and is provided at least with one free sealing surface on the second radial circumference, said sealing surface being radially remote from the functional layer (9) that is tightly applied to the second piece of clothing which is formed by a self-enclosed peripheral area and devoid of the internal material (3) layer of the external material (5) layer.
