[origin: WO2005049389A1] The invention relates to a device (1) for mounting a pedal lever (2) of a motor vehicle. Said device comprises: a pedal lever (2), which is mounted to pivot about a pivoting shaft (5) that is situated in a bearing bracket (4) and is configured as a bearing bolt (6); a support (8) that is located at a distance from the bearing bracket (4); and a breakaway organ (9) that is configured as a double-arm lever (10) and is situated between the bearing bracket (4) and the support (8). The breakaway organ (9), which causes the pivoting shaft (5) of the pedal lever (2) to shear by the application of a shear force and by the relative displacement of the breakaway organ (9) and the bearing bracket (4) as a result of the exertion of an external force caused by a crash, is supported on the bearing bracket (4) at a distance from the pivoting shaft (5) of the pedal lever (2).
