[origin: EP1685784A1] A suction device with a dirt collecting box (12), a suction inlet (16), an outlet which can be closed by a float valve and a filter element upstream from the suction unit, in which a flow guide (20) is mounted at the inlet (16) so as to divide the suction flow (70) into at least two part-streams (71, 72) showing directional flow components which are opposite to one another and at right angles to a vertical axis of the dirt collector (12).
