[origin: EP1686033A2] The underframe has a lower base plate (1), and side walls (2) that runs in a longitudinal direction of a vehicle and forms an housing for wheels of a running gear. The plate has a base plate part (1a) and two ramp plate parts (1b) adjacent to the part (1a). The side walls are connected to the base plate part and ramp plate parts. The side walls have a taper at its end section which is assigned to the parts (1a, 1b).
