[origin: WO2005047048A1] The invention relates to a method for reducing the fuel consumption of a motor vehicle. According to said method, a driver's request for a uniform vehicle speed is determined and once said request has been identified, the modifications to the vehicle speed, which are not initiated by the driver, are at least partially adjusted to obtain the lowest possible fuel consumption, for example of petrol or diesel, for the engine of the vehicle.
