[origin: WO2005051160A1] The invention aims at providing a drying system by means of which it is possible to efficiently dry the wet objects to be washed located in the washing container while taking into account economic considerations. This is achieved in that the inventive dishwasher is provided with a system for drying objects to be washed, said system having heat generating means in order to heat at least part of the air available in the dishwasher, wherein at least one humidity sensor detects the humidity of at least part of the air available in the dishwasher. A dishwasher having said inventive system for drying objects to be washed has the advantage that only the amount of energy that is actually required for optimal drying is supplied in the form of heat energy for drying, whereby energy is saved, and that a particularly gentler drying process can be carried out, whereby the influences of stress upon the objects to be washed are reduced.
