Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1690603A1] One or more layers of liquid plastic resin blended with fibers, is coated onto the wooden panel. The resin is a thermoset, especially an aminoplastic, particularly melamine resin. The fibers are cellulose, viscose, other synthetics, glass, ceramic or their mixtures. Preferably 5-20 wt% of fibers are employed, based on the weight of resin used. Once the composite is hardened, the fibers are transparent. Corundum is included in the layer. An independent claim is included for the corresponding coating method.
