Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1691013A2] A fitting (3) is secured to the fixture (1) via a cavity in a fixture panel (2) containing a first surface (5) slanting a first angle and a second surface (7) slanting at a second angle, the first angle being greater than the second angle and both angles having a maximum value of 40 (ca. 30) deg. The intermediate piece (8) pressed flat against the two slanting surfaces has a thickness which remains constant or increases in the direction away from the middle of the mounting part (6) of the fitting secured inside the cavity. The cavity is a sunken bore and allows the fitting to be secured to either flat side of the panel. The mounting part is a screw or it can be a counter-bearing (preferably a bore or slot) for a screw (14). The fitting is a hinge or a rigid mounting for the panel. The fixture panel is preferably a glass pane. The mounting part is preferably made from metal. The intermediate part is preferably elastic.
