Abstract (en)
The pump (30) is volumetric, e.g. it is a positive-displacement or metering pump, and the coated material is pumped through a return line (70) between the pump outlet opening and the pump inlet opening. A return line valve (60) permits return flow, controlling it by throttling. Its orifice is varied in accordance with coating material pressure at the inlet side, opening with increasing pressure and vice versa. An independent claim is included for the corresponding method.
