Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1693869A2] The device has a housing wall provided with cutouts which are accessible from outside in a region of arc prechamber plates. Iron plates (16, 18) are inserted into the cutouts to create an AC heavy-duty switching device. Permanent magnet plates are inserted into the cutouts to create a DC heavy duty switching device. Prechamber plates made of an insulating material are arranged on both broad sides of an arc prechamber area.
