[origin: WO2005050019A1] According to the invention, a refrigerant compressor for motor vehicles, comprising a compressor housing, at least two cylinder bores in the compressor housing, pistons, arranged in the cylinder bores, a driveshaft chamber, arranged in the compressor housing and a piston driveshaft, arranged in the driveshaft chamber, may be improved such as to operate with a minimum amount of lubricant, whereby, in the fitted position for the refrigerant compressor, the driveshaft chamber forms a collection chamber for lubricant in a region thereof at the lowest point in the direction of gravity and over but a part of the extent thereof. The driveshaft chamber comprises wall surfaces on the boundary of the collection chamber, which guide the lubricant accumulating in the driveshaft chamber into the collection chamber and a lubricant pump device removes the lubricant from the collection chamber and pumps the same to lubrication sites.
