Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2005062000A2] The invention relates to a method for measuring the filling level (7) of a filling material (1) in a container (3) and for monitoring at least one predefined filling level (L min, L max) with the aid of a filling level measurement device (5), and a corresponding filling level measurement device (5). According to the invention, the monitoring corresponds to high security standards, wherein transmission signals are emitted in the direction of the filling material (1) in each measuring cycle and the echo signals (E) thereof are received, the echo signals (E) are used to determine the filling level (7) in a first evaluation method and it is possible to determine whether the filling level exceeds or falls below the predefined filling levels (Lmin, Lmax ) using the echo signals (E) in a second evaluation method which is independent from the first evaluation method.
