Abstract (en)

The method involves casting a molten mass (10) in a mold (1) at a casting station in a gravitation casting procedure. A sprue opening of the mold is closed and the molten mass inside the mold is subjected to pressure by utilizing a compressed gas. The mold is then moved away from the casting station while maintaining the application of pressure. The pressure is also maintained during a cooling phase of the molten mass. An independent claim is also included for a casting arrangement with a casting station.
