Suction device has suction hood (1) which is mounted over the cooking device, which sucks in the cooking fume emerging when the cooking device is in use. An additional air mechanism is so arranged at the cooking device that it generates an air curtain, which goes laterally over the cooking device to the suction hood. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) Retrofit kit; and (B) Application.

Absaugvorrichtung für eine Kocheinrichtung, vorzugsweise eine Kochstelle, ein Kochfeld oder dgl. mit einer Absaughaube (1), die über der Kocheinrichtung angebracht ist und den bei der Benutzung des Kochfeldes entstehenden Kochdunst ansaugt. Eine Zulufteinrichtung (4, 5, 7, 8) ist an der Kocheinrichtung so angeordnet, dass sie einen Zuluftschleier (5) erzeugt, der seitlich an der Kocheinrichtung vorbei zur Absaughaube (1) führt.
