Abstract (en)
Optical joystick has a radiation device including a radiation source (2) attached to a lever (1), and a number of radiation sensors (3). The radiation device produces a cone of rays (7), which are moveable by the movement of the lever relative to the radiation sensors. The radiation sensors are used for deriving binary signals, which indicate the position of the lever with respect to the radiation sensors. The radiation source and the radiation sensors are supplied with only one power supply. An independent claim is also included for a method of determining a position of a lever with respect to radiation sensors in a joystick.
