Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1696701A2] The aid has a sound level controller (LS) to adjust an output sound level of the aid, and movable to several adjusting positions. A level measuring device measures a sound level in the surrounding area of the aid. An evaluating device is provided for comparing an actual adjusting position with an actually, measured surrounding area sound level and for outputting control signals depending on the comparison result. An independent claim is also included for a method to monitor the hearing capacity of a hearing impaired person.
