[origin: WO2005058215A1] The invention relates to a fixation mark that is to be reproduced for a patient in order to prevent inadvertent eye movements during the treatment of an eye, without overtaxing the concentration capacity of the patient. According to the invention, the reproducible fixation mark is projected into the field of vision of the eye to be treated and the patient concentrates this eye on said mark by means of foveal focusing. To prevent inadvertent eye movements, the fixation mark is displaced in the patient's field of vision. Said displacement is carried out in such a way that the patient can easily follow the fixation mark. The inventive fixation object can be used both in ophthalmological examination equipment and therapeutic equipment. As the eyes of the patient are occupied in following the fixation object, the risk of his or her eyes being averted is reduced. Inadvertent and uncontrolled eye movements of the eye to be treated can thus be minimised.
