Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2005058511A1] The invention relates to a device (10) for single-sided or double-sided application of at least two fluid to pasty application media to a running surface. Said device comprises a curtain application system (13) which is used to apply the application media. The curtain application system (13) delivers the application medium to the running surface as a curtain (11, 12) which moves essentially according to gravity, and the surface, during direct application, is the surface of a web of material (102), in particular paper or cardboard. During indirect application, the surface is the surface of a transfer element, preferably, an application cylinder, which the application media transfers to the surface of the web of material (102). According to curtain application systems (13) known in prior art, all application media are collected in a common tray, such that the application media can not be used for another coating. The aim of the invention is to further improve said device such that the application media can be reused after application. According to said device, a collecting device (16), which is used to separate the collected application media (22, 23), is arranged between the curtain application system (13) and the web of material (102). The curtain application system (13) and the collecting device (16) can be displaced in relation to each other.
