Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2005058610A2] The invention relates to a data support on which identifications (20, 22), in the form of patterns, letters, numbers and/or images have been applied by means of laser beams, which are visible due to local changes in the optical properties of the data support brought about by material changes generated by the laser beam. According to the invention, the data support comprises a laser-sensitive recording layer (26), transparent in the visible spectral range, provided with a surface relief in the form of a lenticulation (28). The identifications are written in the recording layer (26) with a laser beam through the lenticulation (28) from various angles and are visible on later viewing at the same angle. The data support is transparent at least in the region of the applied identifications (20, 22).
