[origin: WO2005049912A1] Disclosed is an iron comprising an iron shoe (1) with a heating device (2) and an iron sole (3). Said iron sole (3) is provided with a sliding surface (5) which enters in contact with the material to be ironed and is fastened to the iron shoe (1) on the side facing away from the sliding surface (5) with the aid of a spike (7). Said spike (7) is guided through a passage duct (9) of the iron shoe (1) while being provided with a free end (11) that protrudes from the iron shoe (1) and is bent so as to fasten the iron sole (3) to the iron shoe (1).
